More Heat Records in Southeast

The National Climatic Data Center reports the following number of daily high temperature records, including Co-op stations:

June 21 23 14
Dothan, Alabama broke its record on both days by 3°, with highs of 102° and 103°. The period of record in Dothan is 69 years, and the previous records were both set in 2006.

There were 4 triple-digit records in Florida on Sunday:
Tallahassee       102°
De Funiak Springs 101°
Crestview 101°
Apalachicola 100°
The Apalachicola reading ties the highest June temperature in 77 years of record. Tallahassee's 103° on Saturday also tied its June record.

The National Weather Service reports that yesterday's record high at Ft. Lauderdale was also a new monthly record for June:
A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 98 DEGREES WAS SET AT FORT LAUDERDALE 
YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD DAILY HIGH RECORD OF 94 SET IN 1956.
THIS ALSO BREAKS THE PREVIOUS JUNE HIGH RECORD OF 97 LAST SET ON
JUNE 2, 1998.

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 96 DEGREES WAS SET AT NORTH MYRTLE
BEACH SC TODAY [Saturday]. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 92 SET IN 1950.

Texas (Friday):
THE RECORD WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE 19 WAS 77 DEGREES...
WHICH HAD BEEN SET BACK IN 2007 AND 1964. LAST FRIDAY AT SHEPPARD
AIR FORCE BASE IN WICHITA FALLS... THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS 78
DEGREES... WHICH HAD BROKEN THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR JUNE 19.

TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR WICHITA FALLS DATE BACK TO 1897.
